What Worked For Us Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

Who We Are

What Worked For Us is operated by For Goodness Sake LLC, the company behind OMGYES. We publish first-person stories and essays on intimacy and pleasure, and we also advertise OMGYES, our product, on this site. Some of the pages here recommend OMGYES, and some visitors arrive from paid advertisements we run.

This Privacy Policy covers www.whatworkedfor.us. It explains what we collect when you visit, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

OMGYES has its own separate privacy policy and terms at omgyes.com/legal. If you click through from this site to OMGYES and create an account or make a purchase, that visit is governed by those documents rather than this one.

What We Collect

You do not create an account on this site and you cannot buy anything here. Most of what we collect happens automatically when you load a page.

Collected automatically on every visit:

  • Your IP address, which indicates your approximate location
  • Your browser and device type, operating system, and language
  • The pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and how long you stay
  • How you got here, including the referring website or the advertisement you clicked
  • Cookie identifiers and similar identifiers stored on your device
  • Interactions on the page, such as clicks and scrolling

We store your full IP address in our server logs. We do not truncate or otherwise obscure it.

Collected when you arrive from an advertisement: if you reach this site by clicking one of our ads, the link carries an identifier assigned by the advertising platform, for example Meta's click identifier or Google's. We read that identifier from the web address and store it.

Collected if you send it to us. If you email us, we receive whatever you put in your message.

The Share Your Story page has a form inviting you to send us your own experience. If you use it, we receive four things: the first name or initials you enter, your email address, the city or region you enter, and the story itself. The email address and the story are required. The name and the city or region are optional. The form also asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older and that you give permission for your story to be published and promoted, as described in our Terms of Use.

Submissions reach us as an email. Squarespace, the platform that hosts this site, also retains a copy in its form records and creates a contact record holding the name and email address you gave us.

We read what people send, and we may publish a story on this site, in whole or in part, and we may use it or short excerpts from it in our marketing. When we publish a story we change names and identifying details. We do not publish the email address you give us and we do not share it with anyone outside the service providers listed below. Write to us at any time and we will take your story down. That form is the only place on this site where we ask you for information directly. There is no account to create and nothing to buy here, and the essay and story pages carry no forms at all.

The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, which is described below.

How We Use It

We use this information to understand which pages people read and for how long, to test different versions of pages against each other, to measure which advertisements bring people to this site and which of those visits lead to a purchase from OMGYES, to consider and publish the stories people send us, and to keep the site working and secure.

Who We Share It With, and What We Send Them

Advertising platforms. When you arrive from one of our advertisements, we receive a click identifier from the advertising platform. We use it to measure which advertisements bring people to this site and whether those visits lead to a purchase. From this site we send that identifier to the platform along with your IP address, your browser information and an identifier we assign to you. For Meta, this is sent from our servers rather than from your browser.

Crossing to omgyes.com. When you click a link from this site to omgyes.com or one of its subdomains, we add identifiers to the link so that the two visits can be recognized as the same person. These include the advertising platform's click identifier and our own visitor identifier.

Service providers. We use other companies to host this site, to deliver and measure our advertising, to run analytics, to run A/B tests, to protect our form from automated abuse, and to provide infrastructure. They receive information only in order to perform those services for us. The specific tools are listed below.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information where we reasonably believe it is needed to comply with law or legal process, to enforce our terms, to investigate fraud or security problems, or to protect the rights, property or safety of For Goodness Sake, our visitors, or the public.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of it, on the condition that the receiving party handles it consistently with this policy.

Tools and Third Parties on This Site

Google Tag Manager. We use Tag Manager to load and manage other tools on this site. It does not itself collect information about you; it determines which tools run on a given page. Google's handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics. We use Analytics to understand how people find and move through the site. You can prevent your data being used by Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Google Ads. We use Google Ads to run and measure advertising, including remarketing. You can adjust your Google ad settings.

Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise. The form on the Share Your Story page uses reCAPTCHA to tell people apart from automated scripts. It collects information about your device and your behavior on that page and sends it to Google for that purpose. Google's handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Segment. Segment is a Twilio product. We use it to collect information on this site and route it to the tools listed here, including sending page-view events to Meta from our servers. Twilio's handling of information is described in its Privacy Policy. Segment does not offer a consumer opt-out for our use of it.

Meta. We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. We send Meta information about your visits to this site through its Conversions API, from our servers, as described above. We do not run a Meta pixel in your browser on this site. Meta's handling of information is described in its Privacy Policy. You can review and disconnect the activity businesses have shared with Meta using Meta's activity off Meta technologies tool, and change your ad preferences.

Convert Experiences. We use Convert to run A/B tests, which involves assigning visitors to different versions of a page and recording which version was seen. Convert's handling of information is described in its Privacy Notice. Convert does not offer a consumer opt-out for our use of it.

Mixpanel. We use Mixpanel to analyze how this site is used. It receives information through Segment rather than from a tag on the page. Mixpanel's handling of information is described in its Privacy Policy. Mixpanel's policy does not cover our use of its services and directs visitors to contact the business, so requests about this data should come to us at the address below.

Hosting. Squarespace hosts this site and processes information as our service provider in order to serve the pages.

Cookie and device identifiers are personal information under California law and personal data under European law. We do not describe them here as non-personal.

Your Choices

Cookies. You can control cookies in your browser settings, including clearing them and blocking them. If you block cookies the site will still work, though some measurement and testing will not.

Advertising. The Meta and Google links above let you limit interest-based advertising at the platform level. Those controls sit with the platforms rather than with us.

Do Not Track. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.

Access, correction and deletion. Write to us at the address below and tell us what you want. We will respond as required by applicable law. We may need to verify who you are first.

California Residents

If you live in California you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you and how we use and disclose it, to request a copy of it, to ask us to correct or delete it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

Sending advertising identifiers, your IP address and your browser information to advertising platforms for advertising measurement is treated as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. To opt out, or to make any other request, contact us at contact@fgsake.org.

We do not sell personal information for money.

Visitors Outside the United States

This site is operated from the United States and the information described here is processed in the United States. If you are visiting from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Children

This site is intended for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. The form on the Share Your Story page asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older before you send us anything.

Security

We maintain reasonable safeguards to protect information against unauthorized access, use and disclosure, including encrypting information in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How Long We Keep It

We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes described above. Server and hosting logs are retained according to our hosting provider's standard settings. Information held in the analytics and advertising tools listed above is retained according to each tool's retention settings, where the tool lets us set them. If you write to us, we keep your message for as long as we need it to handle your request and to keep a record of what we did.

If you send us a story through the form, we keep it in our email while we consider it and for a reasonable period afterwards, and the site platform keeps its own copy in its form records and its contact list. We delete all of these if you ask. If we publish it, it stays on the site until you ask us to take it down.

When we no longer have a purpose for information, we delete it or strip it of anything that identifies you.

Links to Other Sites

This site links to other websites, including omgyes.com. Those sites have their own privacy practices and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the updated version here and change the Last updated date at the top. We will not apply a material change to information we have already collected in a way this policy did not describe when we collected it, unless you agree to it.
